RiverRun International Film Festival
April 15-25, 2010

RiverRun is a competitive event that annually showcases new films from both established and emerging filmmakers around the world. Each spring, RiverRun screens new narrative, documentary, short, student and animated films.

The Festival also presents a broad range of special events each year including high-profile regional premieres of significant films, celebrity tributes, family matinees and classic retrospectives as well as a variety of panel discussions and parties.

Greensboro to host the
2011 U.S. Figure Skating Championships
January 22-30, 2011

Greensboro will serve as the host city for the nation's most prestigious figure skating event, the 2011 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. Twelve national champions will be crowned in ladies, mens, pairs and ice dancing on the senior, junior and novice levels.

The 2011 U.S. Figure Skating Championships will bring 1,500 skaters to Greensboro including skaters that competed in the 2010 Olympic games. The event will have a $30 million economic impact on the city. Recent U.S. Championships have been held in Saint Paul, Minn. (2008), Cleveland, Ohio (2009) and Spokane, Wash. (2010).
