The Piedmont Triad is located in the northern Piedmont section of North Carolina between the Blue Ridge Mountains and North Carolina’s Atlantic coast. The travel and tourism industry is supported regionally by Piedmont Triad Host, an organization promoting the growth and enhancement of travel and tourism within the 12-country Piedmont Triad Region. Piedmont Triad Host coordinates efforts with other regional, state, national and international organizations involved with the travel and tourism sector.

Travel and tourism represented a $16.5 billion industry in North Carolina in 2007, with $2.29 billion spent in the Piedmont Triad … more than a 7% increase over 2006 statistics. Nearly 24,000 citizens of the Piedmont Triad are employed in some aspect of travel and tourism.
