Stan Kelly has served as Chief Executive Officer and President of the Piedmont Triad Partnership since February 2015, and as Treasurer and Secretary of the organization prior to that. Stan has 34 years in executive management and leadership experience, most recently with the Wachovia/Well Fargo Corporation, where he served as Executive Vice President and as President of Carolina’s Community Banking. There, he led an organization with 5,000 employees with responsibilities across multiple business units including retail banking, commercial banking and wealth management. The scope of this role ranged from local and regional to national.

Stan is actively involved in the community and state. He holds leadership roles on several boards and commissions including the Board of Visitors for Wake Forest University’s business school and Wake Forest Baptist Health; North Carolina State University Board of Trustees; Wells Fargo Advisory Board; Leadership Winston-Salem; and past Chair of the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce.

Stan was recognized as Citizen of the Year by the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce in 2015 and Distinguished Citizen of the Year by The Boy Scouts of American in 2014, reflecting his long-standing work on behalf of and commitment to the community and state.

Stan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from North Carolina State University. The university awarded him the prestigious Distinguished Alumnus award in 2005. He is also a graduate of the University of North Carolina’s Executive Program. Stan lives in Winston-Salem.
