Puroast Coffee Co. Inc., a coffee roasting company, is relocating its headquarters from Woodland, California to High Point. The company has leased a 36,000-square-foot building at 905 W. Market Center Drive, where it plans to invest more than $1.5 million and create 44 jobs over the next two years with plans for growth beyond that. No economic incentives were involved. Some employees have already moved to the Triad and new jobs will include roasting technicians as well as production, packaging and logistics jobs. The sales staff will gradually relocate as well.
“High Point came out on top after an extensive search to locate our new operations — the workforce, location, manufacturing infrastructure, quality of life and the warm invitation from the economic development team all contributed to our decision,” said Puroast CEO Kerry Sachs. “We’re thrilled to bring Puroast’s special technology and production here during this period of rapid growth for our company, and look forward to being part of the High Point community in this central North Carolina location.”
