Cross Technology, a machining company in Winston-Salem is expanding to a 140,000-square-foot building in East Bend. The company employs about 80 people expects to hire 120 within two years and invest $3.4 million. Cross Technology makes wiring harnesses, plastic injection and heat-shrink products used in defense and other industries. Most of the company’s products are for government contractors, primarily in defense.
“I think a lot of business is coming back to the United States that’s been going to China,” owner James Inman said. “We’ve had several customers bringing stuff back from China and they’re wanting to make it here instead of overseas.”
