The Forge, a Greensboro-based makerspace, has received a grant for $15,000 to buy a metal fabrication and milling machine. Installing the machine enables The Forge to expand its Skills Bootcamp Series to include CNC, computer-aided design and computer aided manufacturing by mid-2019. Joe Rotondi, executive director of The Forge, explained that “Hundreds of students of all ages visit The Forge each year for classes and for learning tours. This new infrastructure at The Forge will enable them to pursue better career opportunities in the skilled trades and industrial arts.”
